Hi, I’m River! 💕🐾

Yep, I’m a French Bulldog. And yes, I know what you’re thinking…

“Oh my goodness, she is adorable!”

Trust me, I hear that a lot.

I’m a friendly, social little lady who absolutely loves people. New friends? Amazing. Old friends? Amazing. Random person walking by who might possibly have treats? Also amazing. If you’re looking for a dog who wants to be part of everything you’re doing, from movie nights to snack breaks, I could be your perfect sidekick.

Now, you’re probably wondering why a charming Frenchie like me is looking for a new home.

Well, let me tell you a little about my journey.

I previously lived with my guardian and my sister. We were both very loved, and my guardian did everything she could to help us live together happily. Unfortunately, my sister and I discovered that we’re just very different dogs. Living together ended up causing me quite a bit of stress.

And that’s where my little quirk comes in.

You see, I sometimes “dribble” a bit.

When I get excited… dribble.

When I meet new people… dribble.

When life gets extra exciting… you guessed it… dribble.

Before you worry, I’ve already had every test imaginable. I’ve been checked, examined, poked, prodded, and investigated six ways from Sunday. The good news is that the veterinarians haven’t found any medical reason for my occasional dribbling. Their best assessment is that stress and anxiety likely played a big role in it.

So here I am, starting a brand-new chapter and looking for a family who understands that sometimes the bravest thing a dog can do is learn to feel safe again.

As for other dogs, we’re honestly not sure what my future looks like. We do know that living with my sister wasn’t the right fit for me, so any introductions to other dogs should be done thoughtfully and with my best interests in mind. I may thrive as the queen of my own castle, or perhaps with the right canine companion and a slow introduction. That’s something my future family and the shelter team can chat more about.

What I’m really hoping for is a patient, understanding family who will continue helping me build confidence and feel secure. A home where I can relax, be loved, and know that I don’t have to worry anymore.

In return?

I’ll provide companionship, endless affection, lots of laughs, and enough Frenchie personality to fill an entire house. I love being around people and have so much love to give.

I’ve already come a long way on my journey, and now I’m looking for someone willing to take the next steps with me.

She has undergone extensive veterinary assessment regarding occasional urinary dribbling, and no medical cause has been identified. The current belief is that stress may have contributed to the behavior. River is looking for a patient, understanding home where she can continue building confidence and feeling secure. Due to her history, any potential canine housemates should be discussed with shelter staff to ensure the best possible match. 🐾
