Meet Lucy ❤️

At 6 years old, Lucy has mastered the art of being a loyal companion. This beautiful Lab mix, with perhaps a little Staffy sprinkled in for good measure, weighs in at about 75 pounds of pure love and is ready to find the family she’s been dreaming of.

Lucy arrived at the BC SPCA through no fault of her own when her previous family could no longer care for her. While her world may have changed, her affectionate spirit and gentle heart have remained the same.

One of Lucy’s favorite things in life is simply being with her people. Whether you’re relaxing on the couch, working around the house, or enjoying an evening walk, Lucy is happiest when she’s sharing those moments with someone she loves. She has done well around children and has shown she can be social with other dogs, making her a wonderful candidate for many family types.

And in true Labrador fashion, Lucy has made it very clear that she’s more of a “take it easy” kind of girl. While our volunteers happily take her out for walks, Lucy often seems to think the best part of the adventure is coming back to the office and settling in with her favorite people. Don’t expect a marathon training partner here. Lucy’s idea of a perfect day is a leisurely stroll followed by quality time with her humans and a comfy place to relax.

The shelter environment has been particularly hard on Lucy. What she struggles with most is being left alone for long periods of time. Right now, the noise and uncertainty of shelter life are only making that harder for her. What Lucy truly needs is a patient, loving family willing to help her feel safe, secure, and part of the pack again.

Lucy isn’t looking for just another home. She’s looking for her forever home. The place where she can finally unpack her bags, settle her heart, and spend the rest of her days surrounded by love.
