Meet Barkley
Meet Barkley:
Barkely is a sweet and affectionate dog who enjoys spending time with his people. He can be prone to excitement and may experience anxiety when left alone, so he will thrive in a home that can provide patience, consistency, and support as he settles into his new routine.
Barkely wears his heart on his sleeve and can be quite vocal when he’s feeling excited or uncertain. He may bark to communicate when left alone, so he would do best with a family that is understanding of his needs and committed to helping him develop confidence and coping skills over time.
To help Barkely be successful, he would benefit from a predictable daily schedule, plenty of enrichment opportunities, and a gradual increase in the amount of time he spends alone. Continued positive exposure to new and exciting situations can help build his confidence, and we recommend working with an AnimalKind-accredited trainer to support his ongoing learning and development.
Because anxiety can sometimes have a significant impact on a dog’s well-being, Barkely’s future guardians may also wish to consult with their veterinarian regarding additional support if needed. With the right guidance, structure, and understanding, Barkely has the potential to flourish into a confident and happy companion who will reward his family with endless love and loyalty.
Walk-ins are prioritized.
