Meet Matilda 💕
Matilda is a lovely German Shepherd/Border Collie cross with a gentle soul and a heart just waiting to bloom. She can be fearful when meeting new people and needs a little extra time to feel safe, but underneath her shy exterior is an incredibly sweet girl who wants nothing more than to be close to her favourite people.
Once you’ve earned her trust, Matilda’s affectionate side shines through. She loves companionship and is happiest when she can spend time with the people she knows and loves. Seeing her confidence grow and watching her come out of her shell is truly rewarding.
As a smart German Shepherd/Border Collie mix, Matilda will thrive in a home that can provide both mental and physical stimulation. Daily walks, enrichment activities, training, puzzle toys, and opportunities to learn new things will help keep her happy and engaged while building her confidence.
Matilda is looking for an experienced home with children 12 years and older who can understand and respect her need for patience and gentle introductions. A calm, supportive environment will help her continue to flourish.
She is currently being assessed for compatibility with other dogs. If there is a resident dog in the home, multiple meet-and-greet visits may be needed before adoption to ensure everyone is comfortable and set up for success.
Matilda may take a little longer to settle in, but for the person willing to give her that chance, she’ll repay you with loyalty, companionship, and the sweetest bond. This special girl is looking for someone who will believe in her while she learns that the world isn’t so scary. 🐾❤️

*Fees vary by location and are subject to change without notice. Adoption fees are subject to PST (Provincial Sales Tax), which will be added at the time of adoption.
All BC SPCA cat/kitten/dog/puppy/rabbit adoptions include a microchip and lifetime registration with the BC Pet Registry.
Registration for lifetime protection is $45 for cats/kittens/dogs/puppies and $11.25 for rabbits, which will be added to the adoption fee. For more information please visit bcpetregistry.ca
