Meet Constance.

Constance is a distinguished senior lady with curves, confidence, and absolutely no interest in your unsolicited fitness advice.

Now, yes… she’s carrying a few extra pounds. We know. She knows. The scale knows. We’re all on the same page. She’s currently on a gentle weight-loss journey, although if you ask Constance, she’s simply preserving herself for the winter. In fairness, she hasn’t lost much here yet. Commitment to the fluff? We have to respect it.

If you’re hoping for one of those cats who enjoys enthusiastic bum scratches, we’d like to save you both the disappointment.

Seriously. Don’t.

Neck scratches, however? Ohhh, now you’re speaking her language. Give this girl a good neck scratch and she reacts the way a dog does when you find the magic belly-scratch spot. One back leg starts going, her eyes soften, and for a brief moment she forgets she’s supposed to maintain an air of dignity.

When settling into a new space, Constance likes to “hide.” We use the term very loosely.

Her favourite strategy is to tuck her head behind a curtain while leaving approximately 40% of her cat sticking out the other side. Sometimes it’s just her bum. Sometimes it’s half her body. Either way, she seems convinced she’s become completely invisible.

Please don’t tell her.

She’s trying her best.

Once she’s comfortable, Constance is a quiet, calm, observant companion who’s happy to keep you company without demanding to be the centre of attention. She’s the kind of cat who watches the world go by, appreciates the finer things in life (like neck scratches), and believes every home could benefit from a little more peace… and perhaps a few strategically placed snack breaks.
