Meet Butterfly 🦋

Butterfly is a 6-year-old Maremma mix who is a gentle, beautiful girl with a heart full of potential and a story of resilience.

When she first arrived at the Centre, she had clearly been through a lot. She was caring for a large litter of puppies despite not feeling her best. Despite her rough start, she showed devotion as a mother, and now it’s finally her turn to be cared for.

Over time, Butterfly has been learning to trust people and she’s already come so far. With patience and kindness from Staff and Volunteers, her true personality has begun to shine. She’s becoming softer, friendlier, and more open to affection every day!

Butterfly is looking for a calm, understanding home that will give her the time and space she needs to continue building confidence. She would thrive with a family willing to go at her pace, offering reassurance and gentle guidance and all the love she has always deserved!

Like her name suggests, Butterfly is in the middle of a beautiful transformation. For short, she always knows “B” as her nickname!

All she needs is a safe place to spread her wings and complete her journey into the wonderful dog we know she can be. 🐾💛

Butterfly is waiting for her spay appointment in the next few weeks – so she is available for FTA (Foster-to-adopt) until after her spay appointment and then she can have her adoption finalized afterwards.

Walk-ins are prioritized.

We are open to walk in’s Tuesday – Saturday 12 pm -4 pm (except for Stat Holidays).
