Victor is a delightful young budgie who is ready to find a forever home! He was found as a stray, and while no one came forward to claim him, he’s settled into our care and has shown us what a sweet little guy he is.

When Victor arrived, it was clear that his wing and tail feathers had been poorly clipped by his previous owner. As a result, he currently has limited ability to fly while he waits for those damaged feathers to moult and be replaced with healthy new ones.

Right now, flying isn’t really an option for him. Instead, he gets around by hopping from place to place, often landing with a less than graceful thud. Thankfully, this is only temporary, and each new feather brings him one step closer to being able to fly properly again. Once he’s fully flighted, we have no doubt he’ll be happily zooming around the room like any other budgie.

Although he’s looking a little scruffy while his old feathers are replaced, Victor won’t stay that way for long. Underneath those feathers is a bright, spirited little budgie who is on his way to a full recovery of confidence and flight.

Like all budgies, Victor is intelligent, curious, and deserving of the same love, enrichment, and companionship as any other pet. Budgies may be small, but they thrive with opportunities to explore, play, forage, and build strong bonds with both their people and other birds.

Victor is looking for a home with another friendly budgie to keep him company. A female companion would likely be the best match, but we’d also be happy to see him paired with a friendly male budgie.

He may be a little rough around the edges right now, but Victor has all the potential to blossom into a fully flighted, confident bird in the right home. With patience and care, he’s the kind of budgie who will truly thrive and never have to experience a clipped-wing life again.
