Meet Gloria
ADOPTION FEE: $10
Gloria is a special little rattie looking for a very special home.
After being found living outdoors, Gloria has made amazing progress in foster care. She now takes treats, explores more confidently, and is slowly learning to trust people. That said, she remains extremely fearful and is not handleable. Gloria cannot be picked up, may lightly nip when investigating hands, and will quickly retreat to safety if startled.
Her ideal adopter will be experienced with rats, have endless patience, and understand that building trust with Gloria will happen on her timeline, not ours. She needs a secure, quiet home where she can work on her confidence through gentle, consistent interactions, especially during her active nighttime hours. Because she is so flighty, she must always be housed in a secure room with doors and windows closed whenever her enclosure is open.
Gloria is not suited for a home with children and would likely do best in a calm environment without cats or dogs. We would love for her future home to have female rats nearby, with the possibility of companionship down the road if introductions become appropriate.
Gloria isn’t looking for someone who wants a cuddly rat right away. She’s looking for someone who will celebrate the small victories and give her the time, patience, and understanding she deserves.
