Meet Pirate & Treasure!

Pirate and Treasure are a bonded pair of senior male chinchillas looking for a loving retirement home to spend their golden years together. At approximately 15 years old, these sweet boys were recently surrendered to us and are now ready to find a quiet, patient family who can give them the comfort and care they deserve.

Pirate is the grey chinchilla and has only one eye-his left eye-though this does not slow him down. Treasure is the white chinchilla and is likely experiencing vision loss as well. Despite these changes, both boys remain friendly, gentle, and sweet companions. With age, they do prefer a calmer lifestyle and tend to keep to themselves a bit more, making them a great fit for a peaceful home environment.

As chinchillas, Pirate and Treasure require a spacious enclosure with multiple levels, hideouts, and safe enrichment to keep them comfortable and engaged. They should be fed a high-quality chinchilla pellet, unlimited grass hay, and fresh water daily, with treats offered only occasionally. Chinchillas also need regular dust baths to maintain their dense coats and should be kept in a cool, dry environment, as they are very sensitive to heat and humidity.

These boys are searching for a special adopter willing to provide them with a calm home, proper care, and plenty of love as they enjoy their senior years together.
