Say hello to Zena, the 8‑month‑old shepherd/husky mix with one blue eye and a whole lot of personality. She can be a little shy, but warms up quickly with gentle pets and tasty treats.

Zena is a belly‑rub enthusiast, a professional attention‑soaker, and has shown us that she walks quite well on a leash so far! Zena is a very smart girl with lots of energy, she still requires training so we’re looking for a dedicated family! She would benefit from a securely fenced yard where she can get her energy out. (Important to note, her yard time should be supervised as she has shown some escape artist tendencies!)

She can be a bit nervous around small kids and sudden movements, so she’s looking for a calm, predictable adult-home where she can blossom at her own pace. Due to this, she can also be nervous being left alone, a family that’s willing to slowly build up her confidence is important to her wellbeing.

1.) Visit our centre to meet this pet during adoption viewings Friday to Wednesday noon to 3pm, learn more about their ideal match, and apply to adopt in person; or
2.)Submit an online application adopt.spca.bc.ca and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit! Kindly note that due to the high number of applications and the availability of walk-in adoptions an online applicant would have to be available to come in for a meet within 24 hrs.

*Side note: the more you add to your application about you and what you are looking for in a canine companion, the better we can match animals with adopters!
