Meet Scully & Mulder!

Scully and Mulder are a young, bonded pair of budgies looking for a calm, loving home where they can continue to grow in confidence. These two are naturally a little nervous, but with gentle handling and patience, they will bravely hop up onto your hands – clearly wanting to trust, even if they’re still figuring things out.

This pair would love to have a large flight cage where they can finally stretch their wings, and the opportunity for safe, out-of-cage time. Despite their small size, Budgies require a spacious and well-equipped enclosure to exercise and express their natural behaviors fully. These two are working on transitioning to a healthy, pellet diet and future adopters should be prepared to continue to encourage them to make healthy choices. When they arrived in SPCA care, Scully was on the thinner side and showed some self-plucking behaviors due to stress. Because of this, they will need an attentive family who can ensure that they are getting all the nutrients, and low-stress environment that they need to thrive.

With time, consistency, and lots of kindness, they have the potential to become very social and interactive birds who enjoy spending time with their people.
They would do best in a home that understands that trust takes time and is willing to move at their pace. Rewarding moments come quickly with these two, and their progress is sure to be incredibly rewarding for someone with patience and love to give.
