Meet Honky Tonk! Honky is a 1 year old Mastiff/Pitbull mix searching for his furrever home.

Honky came to us as a stray, so his past is a mystery. What we do know about him is that he is the goofiest good boy around! Honky is a mix of several large, powerful breeds, and he won’t let his people forget that. Honky is still learning his basic manners and has a serious habit of jumping on his own invisible mini trampoline when he is excited. Honky knows the basics like sit and lie down but needs ongoing training in order to become a mature and fulfilled adult dog.

Honky is very treat motivated and becomes a much better student when treats are around! At heart he is a silly, goofy, and loveable giant, and when he is with his people, his true colours really shine. He is a bright and affectionate boy who is eager to please. He is eagerly awaiting a guardian who will commit the time and energy to help him become the dog he is meant to be! Honky is at the age where training and routine are critical, he would benefit from ongoing socialization, training, enrichment, ample exercise and a structured routine to rely on.

Honky would love a warm bed to snuggle up on after a play session or long walk- he is a boy with high exercise needs, so any prospective adopters should be prepared for the high-energy requirements of his breeds.

Honky is presumed to be a Mastiff/Pitbull mix, but we cannot be 100% sure without a DNA test. Honky’s ideal guardian would be someone who has breed experience or experience with large, powerful working breeds. Honky is not suited to a home with small children or first-time dog owners due to his size and excitability.

Honky Tonk currently has Happy Tail- A condition where an injury to the tail is unable to heal due to movement, size, and activity. Because of this, Honky Tonk is available for Foster-To-Adopt while he awaits his tail amputation Surgeryon April 22nd**
