Meet Jaguar
Although the BC SPCA opposes the keeping of exotic animals as pets because it is challenging, if not impossible, to provide them with everything they need to thrive, Jaguar found his way into the care of the BC SPCA and is now looking for an experienced home that can commit to supporting his special needs.
Jaguar is 7 years young and may live another 25 years with proper care, making him a long-term companion for a dedicated guardian. Jaguar needs a large enclosure (minimum of 55 gallons) that can accommodate hides, and sturdy structures so he can climb and fully stretch out.
We are still learning about Jaguar’s feeding preferences and routine, so his future adopter should be patient and willing to work with him to ensure he is receiving the proper nutrition he needs. Jaguar is well handled and is calm and curious when given safe, supervised time outside his enclosure.
Jaguar’s ideal home is with an experienced reptile guardian who understands proper heating, humidity, enclosure maintenance, and who is prepared for the long-term responsibility that comes with caring for a snake. If you think you and Jaguar might be a good fit please fill out an application online or come to the West Vancouver branch! Adoption and viewing hours are Tuesday to Sunday between 12pm and 3pm.
Please note: A photo of your enclosure, or the enclosure you intend to purchase, is required as part of the application.
