Meet Rain 🌧️🤍

Rain is a beautiful 2-year-old Saanen mix doe with a soft soul and a curious heart. She is currently about 2½ months pregnant, so she’ll be welcoming little ones in the coming months. Because of this, Rain is looking for a very experienced goat home that is comfortable assisting with kidding and has an established farm veterinarian.

Rain came into our care as a stray, and much of her life before us is unknown. She is still learning that people can be kind and trustworthy. While she isn’t ready for pets or scratches yet, she is making steady progress, especially now that she’s discovered that grain is delicious and that the humans bringing it are pretty nice too.

Rain is bonded to her best friend, Wyatt, a big wethered goat who has been a steady source of comfort and confidence for her. Because of this strong bond, Rain and Wyatt must be adopted together. Wyatt helps Rain feel safe as she navigates new experiences. She feels very bonded to being a part of a “herd” (like most goats do) so it is essential for her wellbeing, especially as she prepares for motherhood.

She is young, gentle, and still learning about the world. With patience, routine, and positive handling, Rain has the potential to continue blossoming into a confident and trusting goat. This is especially important during pregnancy and kidding, when calm, knowledgeable care will make all the difference.

Rain will require:
-An experienced goat home with a history of assisting in kidding, access to a farm veterinarian and proper fencing/shelter
-A commitment to caring for her babies, including their long-term wellbeing and following vet recommendations.
-Willingness to adopt Rain and Wyatt together and patience and understanding as they continue to learn to trust humans.

Rain (and Wyatt!) are looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate home that can support them through this important chapter. If you have the experience, resources, and heart to offer them stability and care, these two will reward you with their quiet companionship and growing trust.

Rain is negative for CAE, CL and Johne’s disease
