Meet Vye

Add to favourites

Meet Vye, a 14-year-old mare with a kind and gentle nature! Currently in foster care, Vye is ready to start building muscle through ground work to regain strength. She has a “razor back” appearance, likely from foaling, but it’s not causing her any pain or discomfort. Vye does have some mild lumbar kyphosis (roaching of the spine). While it is not causing her pain at this time and is likely a permanent part of her conformation, she may benefit from chiropractic care or massage if it causes her issues in the future.

Vye has some mild asymmetries in her gait, specifically with her left hind and right front limbs, but these don’t seem to affect her soundness. She’s pasture sound and has been moving comfortably without signs of lameness, swelling, or pain.

Vye shares her pasture with her best friend Trinity, an Arabian mare, and they enjoy their daily apple treats together. Vye is a nice, sweet horse, and she’s been easy to handle and work with. While her condition may require careful monitoring as she starts building strength, she has a lot of potential for the right person and could grow to be a great light riding partner with supportive care, but may only be suitable for groundwork if her condition changes. If you’re looking for a loving, steady companion with some room to grow, Vye could be the perfect match!

She is up to date on vaccines, teeth and feet.
