Meet Gemma!

Gemma is a bright, energetic dog looking for a home where she can thrive with structure, enrichment, and regular exercise. She came to us as a surrender through no fault of her own, and she’s now ready for a fresh start.

In her previous home, Gemma lived with a small dog and an older child. While we haven’t had the chance to test her with other dogs in our care, her history suggests she could be a good match for a canine companion-provided proper introductions are done.

A predictable routine will help Gemma settle in and feel secure. Once she’s comfortable. She’ll need direct outdoor access, and a quieter home environment will help her feel at ease.

Despite her high energy, Gemma is incredibly sweet and affectionate. Once she’s had her exercise and knows what to expect from her day, she becomes a total cuddlebug. That said, working with an AnimalKind Certified Trainer can be a great way to support her transition and build a strong bond from the start.

Gemma has already shown how resilient and adaptable she can be. With the right home, she’ll blossom into a loyal, loving companion who brings a lot of heart to every day.

Do you think you could be Gemma’s person? Here are some ways to find out:

1.) Visit our centre to meet this pet during adoption viewings Friday to Wednesday noon to 3pm, learn more about their ideal match, and apply to adopt in person; or
2.)Submit an online application adopt.spca.bc.ca and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit! Kindly note that due to the high number of applications and the availability of walk-in adoptions an online applicant would have to be available to come in for a meet within 24 hrs.

*Side note: the more you add to your application about you and what you are looking for in a canine companion, the better we can match animals with adopters!
