Meet Ernie
Meet Ernie!
Ernie is a sweet guinea pig who came to the shelter with his brother, Bert. Coming from a home with many other animals and little handling, Ernie tends to be a bit nervous in new situations.
That said, he’s a gentle soul who’s slowly adjusting to his new surroundings and gaining confidence-especially when treats and hand-feeding are involved!
Food-motivated and responsive to calm, positive interactions, Ernie is starting to come out of his shell. He loves fresh veggies and cozy hideouts where he can feel safe and secure. In shelter he has been very clean for a guinea pig, and uses his litter box quite efficiently!
Ernie is looking for a quiet, patient home with experience in guinea pig care. While he was once bonded with Bert, they’re no longer close companions and do best living separately. They can live side by side, but they tend to squabble when sharing a space. Since guinea pigs are social animals, Ernie would do best in a home where he can live next to another piggy for companionship-just with his own enclosure.
