Meet Moss!

Moss is a friendly and playful Husky/Malamute mix who is ready for a fresh start. This sweet pup came into our care after an accident left her with a fractured foot and her guardians could not afford her vet care. She has spent some time in a foster home and is healing well.

Moss is only 5 months old and will grow to be a large dog. With her breed mix, we estimate she will weigh anywhere between 60-80lbs.

True to her Husky roots, Moss can be quite vocal. She would do best in a house or detached townhouse.

Her foster says that Moss can be a bit of a Velcro dog! She wants to be where the people are, and where the action is. She is still learning how to walk on leash and is exited to explore the world around her. She is currently living happily with other dogs and would benefit from continued socialization, where she can learn body language and behaviour cues from other k9 friends.

Interested adopters should know that Huskies often struggle in warm weather, and Moss is no exception. When the weather changes, seeking shade and doing walks near water will be essential for keeping this gal cool.

Due to her previous injury, she may develop early arthritis and will require regular vet checkups to keep her healthy and pain free. Over the next year or so, her activity should be closely monitored and keep walks shorter to avoid reinjury. This is a great time to get a start on her training, and provide her with mental enrichment at home. Moss is a smart girl, and will need to be challenged.

If you are ready to welcome some puppy chaos into your life, come and meet Moss today! Please note: for puppies we prioritize in person applicants.
