This sweet little youngster is looking for a patient, experienced home to help him grow into the wonderful pony he’s meant to be.

He is a mini with possibly some Shetland in the mix. His age is estimated to be between 3-4 years. We do not know much about his history, but in the short time he’s been with us, he’s already showing a lot of promise. He’s curious and willing, and is starting to settle in beautifully as he learns to trust and navigate his new world.

He did come into care as a stud, but has since been gelded. And like many young horses, he still has some baby behaviours that will need time and consistent, patient handling. He can occasionally be a bit nippy and, when approached from behind, feels a bit wary and defensive. He has only been in care for a short while, and is still adjusting and settling in to his new environment, but definitely progressing every day.

He loaded very well for hauling, and he’s already making great progress with handling. He does need continued work with handling his hind feet, and with more time and training, will continue to improve.

He’s not quite ready to be a child’s pony, but with the right foundation, time and patient guidance, he has the potential to become a fun, and loyal partner for bonding down the road. So far he has been pretty easy going around other horses, but is in his own stall with attached in/out and is socializing with his neighbours on either side through the fence. He has potential to be a good companion horse, or even to be trained for driving as he is sound and has good conformation.
