Meet Tofu!

You may recognize this little nugget from his recent medical appeal. This poor little guy had a broken hip from an accidental fall and his previous owners made the difficult decision to surrender him when they could not manage the vet costs. He has been spending some time recovering in foster and is now ready for a new home!

This sweet boy is an affectionate and busy little puppy! Like most young pups, he still loves to play and is exploring all new environments with his mouth. He will need a patient and experienced guardian who can help him work on mouthiness, obedience and controlling his excitability. Additionally, he is in early stages of potty training and will need consistent support on building his house training routine. He is showing some early signs of separation anxiety having lived in a home with a foster mum who is there throughout the day, and would do best in a home with a guardian who works part-time or remotely.

Since Tofu had surgery at such a young age, it is expected that he will need some additional care and attention to health as he grows. He could develop earlier stages of arthritis or have further hip issues as he ages. It is important that potential adopters know that he will need regular vet visits to ensure he grows to be a happy, healthy boy, free of pain and discomfort. This may also mean restricted activity, especially while he’s young and still developing. He is currently recovering well from his surgery and would do best with shorter walks and controlled playtime. Hiking and running for hours a day is not in his foreseeable future!
