Ace is a sweet and sensitive little guy who’s looking for a very special forever home. He came into our care after struggling to thrive in a home with another dog, and it’s become clear that Ace feels safest as the only pet in the household. No other pets please. He needs a calm, structured environment with experienced guardians who understand the needs of fearful small dogs.

Ace is reactive toward other dogs and will need ongoing support with this. His ideal home will be committed to keeping him at a safe distance from dogs while on walks, using positive reinforcement to help him build confidence at his own pace. He may never be a dog who can be around other dogs.

Loud noises, sudden movements, and unfamiliar people can be overwhelming for Ace. Because of this, we’re looking for a quiet adult only home with minimal visitors. No Children please. Ace isn’t a dog who will enjoy busy social environments but once he bonds with you, he’s incredibly playful, affectionate, and loving. He enjoys cuddles and quality time with his trusted people and will become a loyal companion for someone willing to put in the time to earn his trust.

Ace will require multiple meet-and-greets with potential adopters to ensure he feels safe and secure before making the transition into his new home. His future guardian should be patient, consistent, and committed to ongoing trust-building, proper introductions with new people, and always advocating for his comfort and boundaries.
