Meet Edelle – A Striking Black Beauty with a Heart Ready to Heal

At 3½ years old, Edelle is everything you’d expect from a classic German Shepherd: strong, intelligent, and absolutely stunning in her sleek, solid black coat. But beyond her good looks, she’s a girl who’s faced hardship and is now on the path to recovery-thanks to urgent medical care, dedicated rescuers, and a whole lot of heart.

Edelle carries herself with confidence and grace, turning heads wherever she goes. She’s a solid presence in more ways than one, and yes-she could stand to shed a few pounds. That’s where you come in. Edelle needs regular physical activity and mental stimulation to truly thrive. Think puzzle toys, structured walks, obedience work, and enrichment-she’s ready for it all.

She is incredibly smart and eager to please, but still learning the ropes when it comes to leash manners and impulse control. She can be anxious in the kennel environment, but once outside, her sweet, affectionate nature really shines through.

That said, Edelle does come with a few specific needs. Due to a strong prey drive, Edelle must go to a home with no small animals (cats, rabbits, small dogs, etc.). Her instincts are powerful, and while she’s trainable, this is a non-negotiable for her safety and the safety of others. We’re seeking a home where her environment is set up for success.

Because of her breed and current needs, we are only considering homes with prior German Shepherd experience. Edelle is not a first-time dog. She’s looking for a confident, experienced handler who understands the drive, loyalty, and structure this breed requires. In the right home, Edelle will not just be a pet-she will be a devoted companion, protector, and working partner.
