Meet Lou

Add to favourites

Viewable In-Shelter: Yes, through window.

Meet Lou, a charming adult cat who’s known for his sweet and friendly nature!

Lou is a sweet and affectionate cat with a heart full of love. He has a special gift for making everyone around him feel cherished. Right now, Lou is recovering from an injury to one of his front legs and is looking for a calm, caring home where he can continue to rest and regain his strength.

Lou has tested positive for regressive Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV), a disease that affects cats and is typically spread through mating, bites, grooming, and pregnancy. While there is no cure for FeLV, a regressive infection means Lou’s immune system has managed to contain the virus-though it hasn’t been completely eliminated. This could lead to a few different outcomes: Lou might eventually clear the virus, it may stay in his system at low levels, or it could reactivate in the future and cause illness.

Cats with regressive FeLV are generally unlikely to show symptoms or develop FeLV-related diseases. However, because of his condition, Lou needs to be the only cat in the home and must live strictly indoors to protect both his health and the health of other cats.

Lou is ready to bring love into a home that can offer him the safety and care he needs to continue healing and thriving. He’s a true social butterfly, perfectly comfortable in the company of respectful children. Lou’s gentle demeanor makes him an ideal family pet. He’s patient, understanding, and always up for a good cuddle. When you welcome Lou into your home, you’re not just getting a pet, you’re gaining a loyal friend. Adopt Lou and experience the joy of his unending love and companionship.
