Meet Pepper!

This once-gruff senior is finally ready for adoption! After over a month in care, Pepper is slowly learning to embrace the retired lifestyle. Could you be the perfect match?

A lover of lap time, Pepper enjoys gentle chin, cheek, and neck scratches, couch naps, and burrowing under blankets. He’s playful (wand toys and catnip bananas are favorites!), a great self-groomer, and a skilled leaper. He’d love having a cozy windowsill or cat tree in which to snooze — no floor beds required!

Pepper is prone to overstimulation — particularly during long petting sessions, so an adopter who can read feline body language is key. He’s scared of loud noises like vacuums and lawnmowers, so a peaceful environment is essential. No small children or dogs. He’s also on a prescription diet for urinary crystals and uses clumping clay litter. Shelter staff will discuss his health needs in depth with prospective adopters to ensure they are set up for success.

Pepper would do best as the only pet and may enjoy access to a catio in the future. Are you the cat-savvy soulmate he’s been waiting for?

***

Keep your new family member safe and keep them inside! Consider investing in a catio or “cat-proofing” your balcony/deck. Leash-training, or letting your cat tag along in a pet backpack, are other safe options for outdoor-loving felines.

Thank you for your interest in adopting! Do you think you could be Pepper’s person? Apply today!

TIP: We encourage all applicants to write a little bit about themselves when prompted. Leaving these questions empty inhibits our ability to make the best match possible, and effects the likelihood of receiving a call back.

Cat Pre-Adoption Questionnaire

Some animals may not be viewable due to limited shelter space, medical and behavioral reasons, or other contributing factors. Kitten and puppy meet and greets are by application only.

Due to the high number of applications, we will ONLY be following-up with the chosen adopter. If you do not hear back within a week, it’s likely the animal has already found a forever home. Phone inquires and emails regarding the status of your application cannot always be prioritized.
