Meet Salem
Introducing Salem!
Salem came to us after a member of the neighborhood he had been hanging out in, noticed he was no longer thriving outdoors. He came in severely matted, with a badly broken tooth and battling some infection. We were able to get him into the vet to be shaved, started on antibiotics and his broken tooth was extracted – he is feeling so much better!
He would do best as an indoor boy, but would also be comfortable being in a catio once he settles down in a safe environment. We have no prior history from him so we are unsure how he is with other animals, but he’s a big suck with people and would love to be your new lap cat!
Salem will need a dental recheck to ensure everything is healing perfectly before he can go to his new home. As a result, we are looking for local adopters only.
***
Keep your new family member safe and keep them inside! Consider investing in a catio or “cat-proofing” your balcony/deck. Leash-training, or letting your cat tag along in a pet backpack, are other safe options for outdoor-loving felines.

Thank you for your interest in adopting! Do you think you could be Salem’s person? Apply today!
TIP: We encourage all applicants to write a little bit about themselves when prompted. Leaving these questions empty inhibits our ability to make the best match possible, and effects the likelihood of receiving a call back.
The Victoria Center is open for in-person adoption viewings Tuesday through Sunday, 12pm to 4pm, staff and animal well-being permitting.
Some animals may not be viewable due to limited shelter space, medical and behavioral reasons, or other contributing factors. Kitten and puppy meet and greets are by application only.
Due to the high number of applications, we will ONLY be following-up with the chosen adopter. If you do not hear back within a week, it’s likely the animal has already found a forever home. Phone inquires and emails regarding the status of your application cannot always be prioritized.
