Meet Chika!

Chika is a 7-year-old Pitbull with a lot of energy and affection to give. She loves cuddling with her people and is always excited to play. One of her charming quirks is her “tippy tappys” – a little dance she does when she’s excited, and it’s sure to bring a smile to your face.

Chika is a sweet and energetic dog who would do best with an experienced owner who understands her needs. While she has a lot of love to give, she’s still learning how to act around other dogs, so she will require management in these situations-such as using tools like a leash and proper distance-to help keep her calm. While she’s still working on her social skills, she’ll also benefit from continued training. Chika would thrive in a home where she’s the only dog or with an owner who is committed to both managing her reactivity and actively helping her improve her social interactions. Patience and consistency will be key to her success.

Dog Pre-Adoption Questionnaire

The Victoria Center is open for in-person adoption viewings Tuesday through Sunday, 12pm to 4pm, staff and animal well-being permitting!

Some animals may not be viewable due to limited shelter space, medical and behavioral reasons, or other contributing factors. Kitten and puppy meet and greets are by application only.

Due to the high number of applications, we will ONLY be following-up with the chosen adopter. If you do not hear back within a week, it’s likely the animal has already found a forever home. Phone inquires and emails regarding the status of your application cannot always be prioritized.

Animals cannot be held for potential adopters for more than 24 hours without a legitimate reason.
