Meet Kiwi!

Kiwi is a sweet and gentle budgie who recently came into our care. They have a calm demeanor and can often be found admiring their vibrant plumage in the mirror or enjoying tasty treats like spray millet.
Kiwi is a bit shy, especially around new people. While not hand-tamed, they are completely non-aggressive and will simply fly to a different part of their cage. Because of this, Kiwi would thrive with a patient, bird-savvy owner who understands their needs and is willing to work on building trust through training and socialization.
Kiwi would also benefit from the companionship of another budgie. A home with a resident budgie and an owner who can provide a slow and gentle introduction could help Kiwi gain confidence and enjoy the company of a feathered friend.

Do you think you could be Kiwi’s person? Here are some ways to find out:

1.) Visit our centre to meet this pet during adoption viewings Friday to Wednesday noon to 3pm, learn more about their ideal match, and apply to adopt in person; or

2.) Submit an online application adopt.spca.bc.ca and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit! Kindly note that due to the high number of applications and the availability of walk-in adoptions an online applicant would have to be available to come in for a meet within 24 hrs.
