Meet Poncho!

Poncho is a sweet, 20-pound, mix breed dog with lots of affection to give! He walks nicely on leash and gets along with other dogs. He has separation anxiety and is currently on medication for this, so an adopter who is home most of the time that can help him work through his anxiety would be ideal. Desensitization and lots of positive reinforcement is key to helping this little guy to feeling safe and secure while being left alone. He also seems to have done well in the past not being a solo dog, so another friendly dog in the home would be best for this guy!

Poncho can be timid when meeting new people, however he warms up quickly with a calm voice and gentle affection.

Dog Pre-Adoption Questionnaire

The Victoria Center is open for in-person adoption viewings Tuesday through Sunday, 12pm to 4pm, staff and animal well-being permitting!

Some animals may not be viewable due to limited shelter space, medical and behavioral reasons, or other contributing factors. Kitten and puppy meet and greets are by application only.

Due to the high number of applications, we will ONLY be following-up with the chosen adopter. If you do not hear back within a week, it’s likely the animal has already found a forever home. Phone inquires and emails regarding the status of your application cannot always be prioritized.

Animals cannot be held for potential adopters for more than 24 hours without a legitimate reason.
