Meet Papa Bear

This extremely handsome boy came to us from an unfortunate hoarding situation with 8 other dogs. His heartbreaking start to life left him cowering, terrified of everything and everyone. After lots and lots of love and snuggles from the staff, plenty of hard work from Bear, and even more courage, he has blossomed into a loving and playful dog. He still has a lot to learn about the world and is a careful and cautious boy with all new things. He will need a very kind and patient home who can continue his progress in the real world.

Papa Bear absolutely adores other dogs and it will be critical that his new home has either another dog or regular access to a dog who can be his bestie, his role model, and a playful companion. No small dogs though please, Bear is more comfortable with dogs his own size. His home should also have a yard to play in while he works up the courage to navigate a new neighbourhood on a leash.

Papa Bear will need time to build some trust with his new guardians so an approved applicant will want to be prepared for a few bonding sessions in the shelter before the big day.
