Bert is a sweet, shy guinea pig who is approximately 1 year old. He came to us with his bonded brother, Ernie, and the two share a special bond that we hope they can continue in their forever home. Bert is still adjusting to his new surroundings, as he came from a busy household with many animals and little one-on-one handling before arriving here.

Bert is a gentle soul who takes time to build trust, but with patience and a calm approach, he’s making wonderful progress. He’s highly food-motivated, so staff has been using treats to encourage him to feel more comfortable and build confidence. While Bert is still a bit shy, he enjoys quiet moments and is learning to enjoy gentle interactions.

Bert, like his brother Ernie, is particularly sensitive to loud noises and sudden movements, so he’ll need a calm, quiet home where he can feel safe and secure. He also loves to have plenty of hiding spots, where he can retreat to feel more at ease. Bert and Ernie are looking for a guinea pig-savvy home with owners who can continue to offer them the patience, gentle care, and consistency they need to thrive.
