Meet Bolt⚡
Bolt is an incredibly sweet German Shepherd who loves everyone he meets. Don’t let his grey muzzle fool you, this boy is only 4 years old and is a bundle of energy! Bolt loves to go on walks with staff and volunteers, but also loves his kennel cuddle time. Bolt spends most of his day in a manager office and would make an excellent work-from-home companion! He is just happy to lay at your feet and keep you company.
It is suspected that Bolt has an immune mediated disease called Furunculosis which leaves him with little wounds all over his body and paws when untreated. Bolt came into care with several lesions on his body but they have all healed up nicely!
German Shepherds are often predisposed to Furunculosis and Bolt’s skin will need to always be closely monitored. He will require ongoing care and medication to keep it at bay for the rest of his life (although he is not on anything currently). It is also possible that he will require medication for environmental allergies or a special diet for food allergies, as this could also contribute to the cause of the lesions.
When treated correctly, this disease won’t hold Bolt back from being the sweet, fun, and playful dog we know he is!
At the moment, we are unsure how Bolt will do with another dog or cat in the home.

PLEASE NOTE that some animals may not be available for public viewing due to limited shelter space, medical and behavioral reasons, or other contributing factors. Interested parties are strongly encouraged to complete the pre-adoption survey above, as this is the first step to securing a meet and greet.
The Victoria Center is open for in-person adoption viewings Tuesday through Sunday, 12pm to 4pm, staff and animal well-being permitting!

*Fees vary by location and are subject to change without notice. Adoption fees are subject to PST (Provincial Sales Tax), which will be added at the time of adoption.
All BC SPCA cat/kitten/dog/puppy/rabbit adoptions include a microchip and lifetime registration with the BC Pet Registry.
Registration for lifetime protection is $45 for cats/kittens/dogs/puppies and $11.25 for rabbits, which will be added to the adoption fee. For more information please visit bcpetregistry.ca
