Meet Rupert
Rupert is a lovable mix of German Shepherd, Malamute, and Mastiff! This big boy is known for his lush and affectionate nature. Rupert would thrive in a spacious environment, preferably outside of city limits, as he is accustomed to living primarily outdoors in the Quesnel area. He has previously enjoyed the freedom and space that a more rural setting provides. While he can be cautious around new dogs and visitors, this is a normal aspect of his personality. He gets along well with people and is very sweet. Rupert is a strong dog who would benefit from loose-leash training and positive reinforcement to work on his manners.
Rupert has experience living indoors and is quite comfortable with the luxuries of a home environment. He is well-behaved inside and does not attempt to get on furniture or beds, making him a good candidate for indoor living.
Although Rupert was previously in the care of another male German Shepherd, the two were too much for each other, indicating that Rupert might do better as the only dog. Rupert is a big, loving boy who will need a bit of training and an adult only home where he can enjoy the great outdoors while also appreciating indoor comforts.
UPDATE from FOSTERS:
Rupert is completely house trained. He does not jump on the furniture, the only time is when I go to bed, he jumps up, puts his head on my shoulder gives a couple of licks then leaves. He is a very affectionate dog, loves being petted and will give you lots of kisses. He is a very good guard dog but does not bark excessively. He loves being inside but also loves being outside. He is very playful.
He is very well behaved on the leash, he will stop and look at rabbits or squirrels but does not pull to go to them.
When in the yard, he is not happy with other dogs but while walking on the leash he seems to be fine.
We have had people over and he showers them with kisses. He is an amazing dog
