Meet Ginger
Ginger is a sweet little palomino mare ready to start her new life. Ginger has been worked before – we think possible either cutting or reining. She was calm and comfortable with tack, but was likely ridden with a hackamore/bitless bridle as she seems not to be used to the bit. She does have some arthritis in her hocks but they are fused, so are not likely to cause her anymore pain at this point. She also has sidebones (a condition where bony formations form on the cartilage of the coffin bone) and does best with front shoes. Although she is currently sound, she may need more supportive care with higher levels of work and may only be suitable for light riding. She is a bit overweight at the moment, and she puts on weight very easily. She also had borderline test results for PPID – because of this, it is recommended she be maintained on a low sugar diet and is not suited to free choice feeding programs.
She is up to date on vaccines, teeth and feet.
