Meet Sunny, a 1-year-old shepherd mix who’s looking for her forever family! Sunny came to us from a northern shelter as a stray and is steadily working her way back to a healthy weight. She can be a bit shy and anxious when meeting new people and adjusting to new surroundings, but once she feels comfortable, Sunny blossoms into an affectionate dog who loves attention and will lean in for snuggles. She gets very excited and vocal and tends to jump up. For this reason we are looking for a home without small children.

Sunny is a vocal girl, so adopters should be prepared for a chatty companion, especially when she’s asking for love. As a young pup, she’s still learning the ropes of leash walking and tends to pull and is partially house trained. She does well walking alongside other dogs, but will still need a proper slow introduction when meeting new doggy friends.

This clever girl is known to be an escape artist and can jump fences, so she’ll need supervised time outdoors. Because of her anxious tendencies, Sunny would thrive in a quiet, adult-only home with a yard or one with respectful older teens who can give her the patience and understanding she needs.

2. Submit an online application adopt.spca.bc.ca and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit! Kindly note that due to the high number of applications and the availability of walk-in adoptions, an online applicant would have to be available to come in for a meet within
24 hrs.

Please note we open daily (with the exception of Thursdays, as we are closed to the public) at 1:00 PM for viewing/adoptions. Weekdays until 5:00 PM
Sat/Sun until 4:00 PM.
