Meet Happy!

We have all fallen in love with this ‘Happy’, goofy boy. He really lives up to his name! We don’t know much about Happy’s history but he seems to get along well with other dogs out on walks and has good recall when off-leash.

Happy loves to swim and is ready for an adopter that can provide him with lots of exercise and fun! Happy’s ideal home would be someone that can take him on walks, runs, hikes, and swims and does not have any other animals or kids. Happy will need someone that can handle his pulling on leash and who will be dedicated to helping him learn loose leash walking. Happy has shown that he is a quick learner and is eager to please his people.

Sometimes when Happy gets overly excited he can try to hump other dogs, so Happy will need an adopter that can work on decreasing this behaviour. Due to this behaviour, we also feel as though Happy would do best as a solo dog in a home with no other animals. He may also have some resource guarding tendencies around food with other animals, so his new home will need to be conscious of that possibility. Happy has not shown any reactivity to other dogs on walks, he even remains calm when they bark at him! His “Happy” demeanor always shines through!

Happy would like to warm up to new people on his own time and terms, and would appreciate a calm and patient new family. He also does not like being picked up (unless it is for a car ride!). However, Happy still loves getting snuggles and belly rubs from those he knows.
Thank you for your interest in adopting! Do you think you could be Happy’s person? Apply today!

Friendly tip: If you’re looking for a surefire way to make your application to stand out, consider telling us a little bit about yourself in the “anything else you’d like us to know?” section! What brought you to adopt? Have you had any previous pets?
