Boomerang!

She is the lovely lady in white in the picture.

She has a beautiful white coat with baby blue under colours. Boomerang loves millet and exploring her new cage toys. This flock of birds came in together as a group of 7 and in shelter we have separated the group into males and females.

Boomerang is in the process of adjusting to her new arrangement and is a bit flighty (all these changes at once can be tough). She would like to find a family who will help her get more comfortable with human hands, as currently, she considers hands quite rude. She likes music and treats. Boomerang is a young bird and so there is still lots of time for her to become a better hand-tamed lady (did you know that budgies can live to be 15 years old!). On average, pet birds are re-homed 7 times in their lifespan and this can be quite stressful on these smart and social birds. Here at the Nanaimo SPCA we thank you so much for considering a birdy adoption in order to stop this cycle.

At the shelter, Boomerang is a bit overwhelmed and would prefer to stay in her cage. We would like to see her in a home where she has more safe outside of cage opportunities. She would like a new home with a room in which she can stretch her wings and explore.

Boomerang is cheerfully and busy bird. She would definitely brighten any home with her song and silly bird antics. She can’t wait to learn all the tricks with her new people/flock!

Please consider applying for more than one bird from this flock. Budgies do best in groups!
