Meet Aussie!

Aussie is the bird in the back of the photo (He is currently a bit camera shy). He is a beautiful blue and is quite the stunner!

At the shelter, Aussie loves his millet and exploring his new cage. The birds came in together as a group of 7 and we have separated the group into males and females.

Aussie is in a the process of adjusting to his new arrangement and is a bit flighty. He would like to find a family who will help him get use to human hands. We believe he has a lot of potential to become a hand-tamed birdy boy! He just needs time and some consistency.

He would love to have some outside of cage time, possible a home with a birdy safe room for him to stretch his wings and explore.

Aussie would love to find a home/flock who will love him for his entire life (did you know budgies can live up to 15 years and can really grow attached to their people). Unfortunately, on average, pet birds will be re-homed 7 times in their life span- which can be very stressful on these smart and social birds.

It is always best to have budgies in groups, in the wild these birds live in flocks of up to 100! They are very social creatures- We would like to encourage you to adopt him with his current cage mate Bondi (who is also a boy).
