Meet Wonder
Are you ready to add a touch of sweetness to your life? Introducing Wonder (the shy one) and Marzipan (the chin scratch adoring explorer)! These fashionable tuxedo sisters were surrendered to us from a loving home that, regrettably, could no longer provide for them.
Wonder has been extremely shy in shelter. It is obvious she is still getting over her sudden displacement, and will need lots of gentle encouragement and patience. Staff and volunteers are working to win her trust through soft coaxing and the occasional treat! She seems to enjoy wet food, though, as her dish is thoroughly licked clean each day. Progress is slow, but we’re beginning to see glimpses of the real Wonder. Beneath that layer of fear is a polite young cat, who’s happiest curled up in a warm, cozy spot. You may have have noticed her adorable little blep (when an animal sticks their tongue out, or, in this case, gets it perpetually stuck on her lip) — this is a fairly common occurrence in cats, and does not cause her any harm. We hope Wonder will continue to come out of her shell as she awaits her forever home.
Although once very close, Wonder and Marzipan seem to have drifted apart in their previous home, and may not be adoptable together. We are monitoring their interactions closely as there is still a possibility they might get along. Regardless, each are looking for a quiet, patient, and loving home where they can live out the remainder of their days.
Please note that Wonder and Marzipan are carriers of calicivirus (FCV), an upper respiratory condition. Although it’s not life-threatening, it is highly contagious to other cats during flare-ups. For this reason, they must either be adopted together or be the sole feline of the household. This will ensure their health and happiness while minimizing any potential risk to other cats.
