Meet Watermelon (& Raisin)

Add to favourites

Meet Watermelon, a charming 1-year-old cat seeking his forever home with his best friend, Raisin. This handsome boy hasn’t had much life experience so he will be shy and nervous at first until he gets comfortable in a new home. He needs an adopter who is willing to work with him to build up trust, and help him become the confident, playful, joyful boy we know he is inside!

Watermelon and Raisin both came to us from a home with multiple cats and kittens that became too much for their owner to properly care for, over 50 of them! He loves being in a home with other cats and having playmates. He has a sweet personality but didn’t get exposed to a lot of handling in his previous home so may get easily startled. We would suggest he be indoor-only which is what he’s used to. His compatibility with dogs and children is uncertain but given his nervous nature it is unlikely that a home with dogs or kids would be a good fit. Watermelon would be happiest living with another cat. He is currently housed with his buddy, Raisin. Given a bit of time he will become a wonderful companion.

Do you think you could be Watermelon & Raisin’s person? Here are some ways to find out:

1. Visit our BCSPCA South Okanagan-Similkameen Animal Centre, to meet Watermelon, learn more about their ideal match and apply to adopt in person; or

2. Submit an online application https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/application-forms/ and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit! Kindly note that due to the high number of applications and the availability of walk-in adoptions, we will only be contacting potential adopters to further review their interest.
