Meet Rexi
Meet Rexi!
Rexi has been an outside, working dog her whole life and will need time to transition into a new home. She has had limited socialization and will need a patient guardian with a flexible schedule. She would benefit from working with an animal kind trainer. A guardian with prior experience with her breed would be ideal. She is very nervous in new situations but will bond with you once she feels safe. Rexi will need plenty of mental and physical stimulation to keep her busy!
Rexi would do best in a more rural community or very quiet suburb. Rexi is very FEARFUL of other dogs so needs to be the one and only pet. Through proper, slow introductions, in time she may be able to make doggy friends.
UPDATE: Rexi has been doing fantastic with our dog walking volunteers and has shown excitement to get out for walks and explore. She is still fearful of strangers they encounter on walks but is slowly gaining confidence.
Do you think you could be Rexi’s person? Here are some ways to find out:
1. Visit our centre to meet this pet during viewing hours at 3202 Norland Ave, learn more about their ideal match and apply to adopt in person; or
2. Submit an online application adopt.spca.bc.ca and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit! Kindly note that due to the high number of applications and the availability of walk-in adoptions, an online applicant would have to be available to come in for a meet within 24 hrs.
