Meet Daisy

Miss Daisy is looking for a retirement home!

Daisy originally came to the SPCA as a kitten, but has found herself back with us as her owner was no longer able to care for her. Daisy was previously on a diet of whatever she wanted, and she wanted everything! This girl was obese and suffering from hair loss along her back when she came to us.

After months of testing to discover the cause of the hair loss, we uncovered that it was caused by allergies. We also discovered the root cause of her allergies:

Daisy currently has some benign masses that are releasing histamines into her body, causing the itchiness which caused her hair loss. Currently, the masses are not cancerous, but her furever family must be prepared to take her to regular vet check ups to monitor her health.

She is now on a hypoallergenic diet, and has been steadily loosing weight and gaining back her personality.

This angel was shy when she first came to us, but now that she is feeling so much better, her personality shines as brightly as she does. Daisy is a stickler for her routine, and is always ready and waiting at the door when it is time for breakfast or dinner. She isn’t afraid to let her people know when she is in need of food, treats, or cuddles, and will let out her beautiful meow for all to hear.

Daisy is fond of adventures, but prefers them in short spurts. She would do best as an indoor only cat where she can carve out her favourite nap spots (such as a nice box or a warm lap) and also spend some time sniffing around her environment.

Daisy tolerates other cats well, but may prefer to be the only feline in her forever retirement home.
