Meet Rosie

Add to favourites

Rosie is a 3yr old, German Shepherd who is looking for an experienced dog owner. She was surrendered to the Kamloops & District SPCA because of a divorce. German Shepherds are moderately active dogs, if not properly excised they can become frustrated and destructive. Rosie is eager to learn and would make a great jogging or hiking partner. Shepherds are prone to becoming overprotective of their family and territory, especially if not socialized correctly. Rosie is not inclined to become immediate friends with strangers and does require proper introductions when meeting new people. German Shepherds are highly intelligent, loyal and confident.

Rosie is currently on daily anxiety medication to help manage her anxiety while in the kennel environment. She is VERY strong! and may want to chase moving things like bikes, animals or children. Good obedience and a confident guardian is important because she is still learning. She will require a home with no other pets or no small children. Rosie LOVES to play fetch! and is always ready for an adventure. Rosie has previously lived with other medium/large dogs but does require slow introductions and must be separated at mealtime.

A behaviour counselling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal to help ensure success in the new home.
