Meet Bailey

Add to favourites

Beautiful Bailey came from a hoarding environment with many other cats found abandoned in a home. When she arrived at the SPCA she was underweight, sick with an upper respiratory illness and parasites, and very shy. Bailey has shown herself to be a sweet girl who has just had a rough start in life. She will need a family who understands her timid nature and give her the love and patience she needs to blossom in her new home.

When Bailey has had time and space to be comfortable, she is very loving and will make a wonderful companion for the right person. She would do best in a quiet environment without young children and loud noises or quick, sudden movements. As she gets comfortable her curious and playful side will come out.

Cats at the property Bailey came from tested positive for upper respiratory illnesses such as calicivirus and mycoplasma bacteria, as well as parasites. Bailey was treated for the parasites and bacterial infection, but adopters should be aware that though she is now symptom free and healthy, there is a small possibility calicivirus can remain in a cats system for life and may flare up in times of stress causing sneezing, runny nose, etc. Or Bailey may stay symptom-free for the rest of her life, happy and healthy. We recommend she be kept as an indoor only cat and either be the only cat in her home or live with felines who have already been exposed to this virus (you could adopt a sibling for a friend from the same home). We can go over Bailey’s medical history in more detail with potential adopters during our adoption counseling session.

An adoption counseling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal.
