Meet Baby

Add to favourites

Baby is a sweet, friendly, and outgoing Rosy-Faced Lovebird looking for his second chance at a fur-ever home. We are looking for an experienced bird guardian who can provide Baby with the proper housing, diet, and enrichment to keep him happy and healthy. This lovely bird is super social! As soon as his cage is opened Baby hops on your finger and then onto your shoulder, his happy place, for some cuddles. He is great with handling and very loving. He enjoys listening to music, having a good bird bath, and swinging on his swing.
Baby came in to the SPCA with an overgrown beak possibly due to a previous injury or poor diet in his previous home. He has had some beak trims in care and we are working on Baby being transitioned to a mostly pellet diet as recommended by the vet, as well as vitamins added to his diet to strengthen the beak. A proper diet will hopefully help Baby’s beak become healthy again with time. An adopter will need to work with their vet to do beak trims regularly as needed and hopefully with all the improvements in care he may eventually no longer need them.
Lovebirds are very social birds. Baby hasn’t lived with another bird as far as we know but there is the possibility with proper, slow introductions he might be able to live with another Lovebird.
This handsome boy will make a wonderful companion for a bird lover and will add a lot of love to a home.

An adoption counseling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal.

Do you think you could be Baby’s person? Here are some ways to find out:

1. Visit our centre to meet this pet, learn more about their ideal match and apply to adopt in person; or
2. Submit an online application and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit! Kindly note that due to the high number of applications and the availability of walk-in adoptions, we will only be contacting potential adopters to further review their interest. We are not able to contact all applicants.
