Meet Skye

Add to favourites

This little girl is Skye, she is looking for a very special home.

Skye was found wandering out in the bush and was extremely nervous! Her rescuers never gave up on catching her. Eventually they managed to confine her and brought her to us. When Skye first arrived in our care she was very shut down and unsure of staff, it almost seemed as though Skye has never had any proper human handling, or exposure to normal day life.

She is on a low dose anti anxiety medication to help her cope with her anxiety.
She is absolutely terrified of any sudden movements, or loud noises, she DOES NOT like it when staff carry around strange objects. We are currently working with her on coming inside the building on her own, and getting her used to gentle human touch. Skye is going to be a long work in progress, but she has shown huge improvement with the staff here. She has started to become quite playful with us and seems to want our attention. Skyes best friend here at the shelter is our other adoptable dog Spud, they adore each other and love to play! Skye would benefit greatly in a home with another dog that is confident.

Skye is looking for a foster to adopt home, that understands she is going to be a special needs girl, who needs a lot of time and love.

If you feel you may be the right fit for Skye, please contact our branch either at 250 723 5269, or email us at alberni@spca.bc.ca
