Meet Casper

Add to favourites

Casper is a fun loving, mature man looking for his forever home! He is learning to play fetch and keep away with his toys and he has been known to give “hugs”; nosing faces while standing on his back legs. He also likes a bum scratch and happily dances with his back feet when you get the spot! Casper would do best in a home with minimal changes in schedule while he adjusts to his new life and he would love a fenced yard to call his own. Casper is happiest hanging out with his human friends and going for nice walks!
As Casper came to us as a stray, we do not know much about his previous life. Casper can be shy and will need slow introductions to new things including people, dogs and strange handling things like nail trims and baths. He has been a great office dog on quiet days! Although, again, new things are weird and sometimes scary! Like the printer!
Casper has been a trooper throughout his treatment for a deep neck wound he had on arrival. The wound is now nearly completely resolved but Casper will have scars and has to be walked with a harness that does not sit too high. He has come leaps and bounds in his time with us but will need an experienced adopter who is willing to continue positive reinforcement training with an AnimalKind trainer. Casper is very food motivated and loves to show off his sit and shake a paw for cookies! With consistency and love, Casper will quickly become someone’s best pal!!
