Meet Casper *new Bio*

Add to favourites

An update on Mr. Casper!
if you remember, this big man came into our care as a stray, with a large wound on his neck! It is now fully healed and Casper is back to his handsome self!
Casper has been gaining lots of confidence in his time here and he has warmed up to the staff and volunteers, we have gotten to know his personality better and he is a huge goofball! He is a playful, happy dog who loves spending time with his people. Casper is still nervous of strangers and new places, but we have been working on teaching him that strangers aren’t scary. Once Casper knows you, he likes to stand on his back legs for a hug and some kisses. He loves exploring and sniffing, and nothing beats a good game of tag especially in the snow! Casper LOVES to run, so a nice big yard would be a huge bonus for him! He loves stuffy toys and taking a quick nap in the sun!
Casper now knows his name and is getting very good at coming when called, and has sit down to a science. He is very food motivated which makes training him easy, and he is a very smart dog!!
Casper has made friends with some female dogs here at the shelter, we haven’t had any success introducing him to male dogs. We think he would likely love sharing a home with an appropriately sized female dog, or would do well as an only dog!
Casper’s ideal home will be an adult only household in a rural area, with no cats or small animals in the home, but a potential female canine companion would likely be a hit! This large man will need a guardian who is committed to continuing his training with an AnimalKind trainer, and who has time to give him the exercise and enrichment he needs.

Casper is so so ready to find his forever home, and we know his perfect fit is out there somewhere!!
