Meet Daphne!

Daphne is an absolute doll who loves pets, scritches, rubs, pats, all kind of physical affection! She loves to sit in her tree, stare at the outside world, and also loves to play!

Daphne has unfortunately tested positive for the Feline Leukemia Virus. FeLV is a disease of cats for which there is currently no cure. Infection suppresses the immune system and can cause cancer, infections, and a number of other medical issues.

Fortunately, Daphne’s FeLV is regressive, meaning her immune system has contained, but not eliminated, the virus. Future possibilities include: Completely eliminating the virus, the virus could remain present at low levels, or the virus could become reactivated later and cause disease. Cats with regressive infections are considered unlikely to develop symptoms of disease related to FeLV and can have a normal lifespan.

Future adopters should plan to bring Daphne to the vet for routine medical care, including periodic blood tests to check for FeLV-associated diseases.
