Meet Koala

Add to favourites

Koala is eagerly awaiting his new home! This sweet boy can’t wait to find a family!

Koala is used to living with one person and many cats, he could live with cats again given the appropriate match. He has no experience with kids or dogs and would prefer a low-traffic home. Koala is a sweet kitty though shy at first, he warms up with treats and wet food.

Koala has a history of wobbly hind legs and dysuria (difficulty urinating) due to a suspected previous injury to his lower spine. This will requires him to be on medications most likely for life, but this does not affect his amazing personality and his love for other cats.

There is a high suspicion that he may have sustained a tail pull injury. When
this happens the nerves to the hind end (sometimes tail and/or bladder and/or rectum and/or legs) are affected. Commonly a
cat is not able to properly empty their bladder. Koala was started on a medication called Bethanecol. This medication helps the
muscle around the bladder contract.

It will be important for Koala’s potential adopters to form a relationship with their vet, as Koala should have a vet visit at least once a year, and more if there are concerns.

Thank you for your interest in adopting from us! Due to the high number of applications we receive for our animals, we will only be contacting potential adopters to further review their applications.
