Meet Ernie (group Of 3 Males)

Add to favourites

Say hello to Ernie!
Ernie and his friends, Big Bird and Bert, came into our care looking to find their second chance at a forever home when their previous guardian was not able to keep them. These three boys get along fairly well as Guinea Pigs are social creatures and it’s very entertaining to watch them mosey around making their little noises, munching on food. We ideally would like them all to be adopted together if possible. Ernie is the more nervous of the trio, a little bit shy of being handled so will need a guardian who can work on him getting used to more handling. Perhaps he’s afraid we’ll just mess up his fabulous hairdo. He is kind of the leader of the pack and while shy in some ways bold in others.
Adopters will need to show knowledge on the special care, diet, and environment that Guinea Pigs need to be happy and healthy. Before taking on a new animal research into their special care is very important as Guinea Pigs can live 4-8 years and are a commitment.
An adoption counseling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal.

Please note due to the current COVID-19 pandemic our adoption process has changed. Please visit our website https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/how-to-adopt/ for more information. All adoptions are by appointment only once we have received an application.

***Due to the high number of applications we receive for our animals, we will only be contacting potential adopters to further review their application. We are not able to call all applicants.

***Current travel restrictions within the province of British Columbia mean that we are prioritizing local (within Interior Health Authority) adopters at this time.
