Roxy came to us through our cruelty investigations department, she was extremely matted and fearful on arrival. We worked with our vets to de-mat her and clean her up so she can find her new home. Roxy is very obese and struggles to get around the house due to this. She may not be able to live in a two story dwelling or will need to have all her things on the first floor. She will need a guardian who is committed to helping her lose weight through a special diet and exercise.
Due to Roxy’s hefty frame, she struggles to get in and out of the litter box and will sometimes have accidents near the box. Setting up puppy pee pads around the box will make clean up easier, as will a low sided litter box.
Roxy is very shy in shelter as she is uncertain about her environment. She will need time to adapt in her new home and a patient guardian who can help her adjust. Roxy enjoys cuddles on her own terms and likes to spend time quietly with people. In foster she has been slowly coming out of her shell and spending time with her foster family!
